With an imposing stance and the gigantic stride he possesses, United Touch S has been chosen as the best horse of the month of December 2024 in show jumping. This specimen has once again demonstrated its worth and intelligence to overcome obstacles with great ease. A reference within the equestrian world, his connection with his rider was key to achieving this well-deserved recognition.
This has been emphasized by Richard Vogel, who is amazed every day with United Touch S: “It is a very, very special feeling. I have been lucky enough to ride many good horses in my life, but he is exceptional. When he takes off from the ground, that power and reach are something unique, and I am very happy to be in their saddle.”
In a 2024 full of success and celebrations, both won gold in the Longines League of Nations™ Final. Months later, horse and rider took two consecutive Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ qualifiers in Lyon (France) and Stuttgart (Germany).
It was in the rider’s home, at the Stuttgart German Masters, where they won a gold medal with a comeback included. United Touch S’ jump-off time (41.39) was almost three seconds faster than Denis Lynch’s Brooklyn Heights, who was leading (44.37).
“I feel totally overwhelmed. United Touch S leaves me speechless,” Richard Vogel said at the time after finishing the competition.
They followed their successes at the Winter Equestrian Festival, winning the Five Star Grand Prix in Wellington (United States). A special connection that has led to United Touch S being chosen as the best horse of the month. .
The Olympic genetics of United Touch S: Your legacy in show jumping
United Touch S has been bred in Germany by its owner, Julius Peter Sinnack. He belongs to a prominent line of Olympic class show jumping horses. He is the son of the Westphalian stallion Untouched and the Holsteiner mare Touch of Class.
This imposing stallion began his international career in 2018 alongside Dutch rider Willem Greve. For 2022, she was scheduled to compete with German rider Sophie Hinners, but it soon became clear that the chemistry between United Touch S and Richard Vogel, Hinners’ partner, was incomparable.
The connection and trust between Vogel and his star horse are extraordinary, which has allowed them to achieve great achievements. In Barcelona in October, a flawless double run with no faults by the duo helped Germany emerge victorious in the inaugural Longines League of Nations™ Final.
The previous month, in September, the pairing shone in Calgary (Canada) by completing another double tour without faults, taking victory in the prestigious CSIO5* Cana Cup in Spruce Meadows, beating an elite of international competitors.
Future plans for United Touch S in 2025: Key competencies
