This son of the renowned Converter (Contender), with a maternal line descending from Carthago—a legendary showjumping stallion who competed in the Olympic Games—embodies the ideal blend sought in a showjumping horse: pedigree, power, gallop, technique, drive, and talent.

Despite not having an extended career at the highest level of sport, his success as a sire has been extraordinary, solidifying his legacy through his offspring. Conthargos is particularly valued for the quality he imparts to his progeny, now numbering nearly 2,000, with 50 approved stallions and over 30 competing at the highest level. Notable examples include Cocolina (CSI 1.70m), Conthargo-Blue (1.60m competitor with Eiken Sato), Concona ridden by Ben Maher, Conchento PS who competed at 1.60m with Gregory Wathelet and Luciana Diniz, and Cosa Nostra, who participated in the Tokyo Olympic Games with Alberto Michán.
