HOW DOES THE preservation of cell lines PROCESS WORK?
The cloning process is very simple and starts with a DNA sample. This can be a cryopreserved sample or, in the case of a valuable animal that has died prematurely, a biopsy (skin tissue) taken immediately after death.
In order to carry out the procedure, we need to extract the nucleus of an egg cell (of the specified species) and fertilise this egg cell – without its own genes – with the DNA sample. The union of this fertilised egg will give rise to an embryo.
