In the late 1990s, Thierry Pomel crossed paths with a young horse that would change not only his riding career but also his life. After years of training and dedication, Thor des Chaines took him to the Sydney Olympic Games and the final of the FEI World Equestrian Games in Rome in 1998, where they won a silver medal.

Competing up to 1.60 m, this gelding stood out as one of those horses that elevate the sport and increase competitiveness.
Thor des Chaines was a serious and mentally balanced horse, decisive when facing obstacles, and known for his cadence in the ring.
His rider, Frenchman Thierry Pomel, is internationally renowned, and together with Thor des Chaines they formed a legendary pair. They were selected to represent France at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
