SICAB, the International Purebred Spanish Horse Show, is the world’s leading event dedicated to the Purebred Spanish Horse (PRE). It is a key reference in the international equestrian calendar and ranks third in socioeconomic importance in the city of Seville. This gathering brings together breeders and enthusiasts from both Spain and around the world.
At Ovohorse and Ovoclone, we are once again present at SICAB for the third consecutive year with a highly innovative stand. As in previous editions, we are offering a modern, science-driven space where our team of professionals will explain the OPU-ICSI technique, which helps maximize embryo production each year. In this line, you’ll also learn about the vitrification process for embryos and how to preserve your favorite horse’s cell line to safeguard its genetics.
This year, you’ll also find information on two magnificent Purebred Spanish Horses (PRE) available for the OPU (follicular aspiration) technique with which Ovohorse works:
“Relicario CH” is a dilute-colored stallion known for passing on this rare trait to his offspring. He stands out for his excellent gaits, strong conformation, and exceptional temperament, making him an outstanding specimen.
Meanwhile, “Poseído VII” is a grey PRE of Cartujano lineage. This horse, born at the prestigious Yeguada La Cartuja Hierro del Bocado, is a classical icon of the Cartujano strain of the PRE breed. Born in 1982, son of “Habanero XI” and “Poseída II,” Poseído VII is an internationally renowned stallion. He was named Andalusian Champion in morphology and is recognized as one of the most influential sires in the modern PRE breed. His legacy includes renowned mares like “Fugaz III,” “Firme,” and “Hermosa XLII,” and he has sired a total of 112 foals, including fifteen born from PRE mares at Yeguada Peralta.

The highlight of SICAB is the World Championship for the PRE Horse, a sporting event that draws participants from 67 countries where the breed is raised. In addition to this championship, the show hosts the finals of the ANCCE Cups, which include disciplines such as Dressage, Doma Vaquera, High School, Driving (Sport and Tradition), Working Equitation, Show Jumping, and Side Saddle, as well as exhibitions and equestrian performances.
